HOW CTC OPERATES
Canterbury Tuition Centre offers private tuition for children and adults. We offer services for 11 Plus, GCSE, A Level and undergraduate level students.
GCSE & A LEVEL - CTC offers tuition in Maths, English, History and Politics.
UNDERGRADUATE - Tuition is available for History, Maths and Physics
When you sign a contract with CTC we will offer the student a tailor-made programme which focuses on their weakness and any topics with which they are struggling. If your child belongs to a group class, tuition is supplied weekly, but is not specifically tailored to individual students.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO CTC TUTORS HAVE?
We pride ourselves on the high quality of our tutoring staff. All tutors have studied in their particular field to PhD standard (some have completed their PhD, and some are working towards completion). Our students are guaranteed to be taught by an expert in whatever subject they choose to study.
All our tutors have experience working with children either as private tutors or in a classroom environment.
All members of CTC staff have full Disclosure and Barring Service checks (DBS checks - formerly CRB checks).
We believe in complete transparency when it comes to pricing. You can find the price of each service underneath its description on the relevant page.
We charge a flat rate for one-to-one, regular, private tuition: £40.00. This fee includes preparation time and tuition plans, marking and feedback time, as well as the hour of tuition your child receives. We endeavour to provide a discount option for as many of our services as possible.
We only offer different rates for non-regular or holiday-only tuition. Please get in contact if you wish to arrange individual/ non-regular tuition, or to find out more about our prices.
HOW WILL IT WORK ON THE DAY?
Coming to CTC is simple, easy and fun!
Children learning with us: Children will be dropped off at the CTC office, near Westgate in Canterbury. They will be welcomed to one of our two tuition rooms and made comfortable by one of our friendly team. Each week, work is set ahead, specifically developed to target each student's different needs. A tutor will explain tasks for the day and help your child through their exercises. Before they know it, someone will be there to pick them up again! They will leave, complete with homework and a smile.
Parents leaving children with us: We are mindful that parents or guardians are often at a loss as to what to do for an hour or two while their child is being tutored. We are fully insured and we urge you to leave your child during his or her tuition with us. However, if you would like to make yourself comfortable in the CTC sitting room, you are welcome to stay (subject to the number of parents waiting).

We offer free, no-commitment consultations. We like to get to know our students, understand their interests and hobbies and gain some appreciation of their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to their tuition subject. We also think it's really important that students meet us, see where they might learn and see if they are comfortable in the tuition rooms.
We ask lots of questions to ascertain how best to help the student. It's particularly useful if we can speak to a parent or guardian in advance of this meeting, so the consultation can be focused specifically on the student. Joanna is always willing to talk about your child's specific needs.
